WHAT WE DO
CIVIL PROCESS
The Constable’s Office serves all forms of civil process, such as divorce papers, child custody orders, evictions, and other various forms of other legal process and writs throughout the State of Utah as sworn and certified peace officers.
CRIMINAL PROCESS
The Constable’s Office partners with Utah’s Justice courts and various government agencies to serve criminal process, such as arrest warrants, and other important matters such protective orders.
COURT SECURITY
We serve as officers of the court protecting Utah’s justice courts and all that attend as sworn and certified peace officers and bailiffs.
NEED ADDITIONAL HELP?
Utah’s Online Court Assistance Program (OCAP) is a valuable resource for individuals who may not be represented by a licensed attorney and need to prepare court documents. Once your documents are prepared, we would be happy to have a deputy serve them to the intended person or business.

AS SWORN PEACE OFFICERS
Under Utah Code, constables and their deputies are sworn and certified peace officers, specifically special function peace officers, and have police authority during the commission of their duties. They attend the police academy and must undergo 40 hours of annual law enforcement training, like other officers.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PAPERS
You may submit your legal documents for service online, mail them to our office, or drop them off in person by appointment. Whatever is most convenient, although we recommend you submit your documents for service online for traceability.
CONSTABLE SERVICE FEES
Under Utah Code, Constables and Sheriffs may collect fees for their services specific to civil actions. The Constable’s Office offers several service options depending on your specific needs, timing, and service area. By utilizing the Constable’s Office services, you agree to such fees as presented.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCES
Domestic violence is a top priority of the Constable’s Office. This often involves serving protective orders throughout the State of Utah. Several resources are available to those affected by domestic violence, which include the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition. Please contact us if you need a protective order or stalking injunction served.
